Pastor Genetha Rice-Singleton
Rev. Genetha Rice-Singleton, an Ordained Elder in Full Connection with the North Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church, is a native of Georgetown, South Carolina. Guided by Philippians 4:13, she carries out her ministry with deep reliance on Christ’s grace and a desire to reflect God’s light in all she does. Before entering full-time ministry, she retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation after 30 years of service, where she led major projects, including Atlanta’s first HOV lanes and the Andrew Young International Bridge replacement, and earned the Commissioner’s Merit Award. Rev. Rice-Singleton holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering Technology from South Carolina State University and a Master of Divinity from Candler School of Theology at Emory University.
Rev. Rice-Singleton answered her call to ministry in 2014, and her journey has led her to serve in several pastoral roles, including Kelley Chapel UMC, Wesley Chapel UMC, Douglasville First UMC, and Ben Hill UMC. Drawing on her engineering background, she “builds ministry bridges” that connect people to God through preaching, teaching, pastoral care, outreach, and strategic ministry development. She coined the term “Kingdom Harvesting” to describe her commitment to guiding others into a deeper relationship with Christ—work that has taken her on mission trips to Peru, Belize, Greece, McAllen, Texas, and Nairobi, Kenya. Beyond her ministry and professional accomplishments, Rev. Rice-Singleton is grounded by the relationships and community that shape her life. She is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, and is joyfully married to her high school sweetheart Anthony. They have two children and two grandchildren.
