Health and Wellness Tips:

November is Diabetes Awareness Month.   During the month of November Health and Wellness ministry will share weekly nutritional recipes for your enjoyment.

Nutrition and physical activity are essential for diabetes management.  Following a healthy meal plan and being active can help you keep your blood glucose level, also called blood sugar, in your target range. To manage your blood glucose, you need to balance what you eat and drink with physical activity and diabetes medicine, if you take any. What you choose to eat, how much you eat, and when you eat are all important in keeping your blood glucose level in the range that your health care team recommends.

Eating well and being physically active most days of the week can help you

  • keep your blood glucose level, blood pressure, and cholesterol in your target ranges
  • lose weight or stay at a healthy weight
  • prevent or delay diabetes problems
  • feel good and have more energy

AWARENESS SAVES LIVES! FEBRUARY IS AMERICAN HEART MONTH

We believe anyone can learn the simple steps to save a life, and everyone should.  Be the difference for someone you love.

Hands-Only CPR Can Save Lives. Most people who experience cardiac arrest at home, work or in a public location die because they don’t receive immediate CPR from someone on the scene. If you see a teen or adult suddenly collapse, call 911 and push hard and fast in the center of the chest to the beat of any tune that is 100 to 120 beats per minute, such as the classic disco song “Stayin’ Alive”.
